A one-day School Bag Sewing Training Program was conducted on 9th October 2025 at the Rideemaliyadda Livelihood Development Centre. The objective of the training was to provide participants with fundamental skills in school bag design, cutting, and sewing, using locally available materials. Through hands-on sessions, participants learned essential techniques such as pattern making, machine sewing, and final finishing processes required to produce functional school bags.
In addition to technical skill-building, the program emphasized the importance of self-employment and small-scale entrepreneurship. By promoting the production of high-quality, durable school bags, the training aimed to open income-generating opportunities for participants within their communities. The event concluded successfully, marked by active engagement and positive feedback from attendees.
