The Mushroom Cultivation Training Program provides individuals with practical knowledge and skills to start a sustainable and profitable agribusiness. With mushrooms being a high-demand, nutritious, and fast-growing food source, trained participants can tap into a growing market with minimal startup costs and space requirements. The training covers the complete cultivation process—from substrate preparation to harvesting and marketing—enabling participants to produce quality mushrooms efficiently and affordably.
The program was conducted on May 4th, 2025, at the Livelihood Development Center, Rideemaliyadda. Participants received hands-on training in all key aspects of mushroom farming, including:
- Selection and preparation of growing medium
- Inoculation techniques
- Environmental control and maintenance
- Harvesting and post-harvest handling
The training aimed to empower individuals with the knowledge and practical skills to successfully grow mushrooms, promote self-employment, and contribute to local food security and income generation.
