The Ladies’ Slipper Production Training Programme was held on August 20, 2025, at the Rideemaliyadda Livelihood Development Center. The training aimed to provide participants with practical skills in making ladies’ slippers, supporting self-employment and small-scale footwear production.

- Introduction to slipper types, materials, and tools
- Design and size measurements
- Cutting, assembling, and gluing techniques
- Sole attachment and finishing processes
- Quality control, packaging, and marketing tips
Participants received hands-on guidance and created sample slippers during the session. The training helped develop valuable craftsmanship and encouraged participants—especially women—to start or expand small businesses in footwear production. The programme was well-received and considered an effective step toward local economic empowerment.
