On June 17, 2025, the Rideemaliyadda Livelihood Development Center hosted a hands-on Bytes Production Training Programme, drawing enthusiastic participants eager to turn their cooking skills into business opportunities.

The training focused on the preparation and packaging of bytes — bite which have become increasingly popular in local markets. Designed especially for women and aspiring food entrepreneurs, the session covered:

  • Ingredient selection and hygienic preparation
  • Techniques for shaping, frying, and packaging
  • Food safety, storage, and shelf-life management
  • Costing, pricing, and basic marketing strategies

Participants engaged in practical cooking exercises, creating a variety of savory bytes while learning how to launch or scale a small food business.
