Many community members, especially women, face limited opportunities for self-employment and income generation due to a lack of marketable skills in garment production.

On May 29, 2025, the Rideemaliyadda Livelihood Development Center conducted a Baby Suit Sewing Training Programme designed to equip participants with the practical skills necessary to sew baby suits. This training focused on empowering attendees to start small-scale tailoring businesses or generate income through home-based work.

Participants engaged in hands-on learning, receiving close support from experienced instructors. By the end of the session, all trainees had successfully completed their own baby suits, demonstrating their newly acquired skills.
