The Achcharu and Chutney Production Training Programme was held on July 24, 2025, at the Rideemaliyadda Livelihood Development Center. The programme aimed to equip participants with practical knowledge and skills in preparing a variety of traditional achcharu (pickles) and chutneys, with a focus on hygiene, preservation, and income generation.
Key areas covered included:
- Selection and preparation of fruits, vegetables, and spices
- Traditional and modern methods of achcharu and chutney production
- Techniques for preservation and extending shelf life
- Hygienic handling, packaging, and labeling
- Basic marketing strategies for small-scale sales
Participants engaged in hands-on preparation of different recipes and received guidance on turning these products into marketable items. The training was well-received, encouraging value addition to local produce and supporting home-based food processing businesses.
