Mosquito net Sewing Training

On May 27, 2025, a Mosquito Net Sewing Training Programme was successfully conducted at the Rideemaliyadda Livelihood Training Center. The primary objective of this one-day session was to empower participants with practical sewing skills that contribute to both public health and livelihood development.

The training provided comprehensive, hands-on experience in the following areas:

  • Understanding the different materials and tools used in mosquito net production
  • Accurate measurement and cutting techniques for various net sizes
  • Sewing and assembly procedures for durable and functional nets
  • Implementing quality control and adhering to basic safety standards

Participants were guided through each stage of the production process by experienced trainers, ensuring they gained confidence and competence in sewing mosquito nets.

Beyond skill development, the programme emphasized the entrepreneurial potential of mosquito net production, encouraging participants to explore small-scale business opportunities within their local communities.

The training received positive feedback and was recognized as a valuable initiative for enhancing household well-being and promoting economic self-sufficiency.
